An AI Planner That Reads Scope and Produces P6-Ready Schedules
Planning in Primavera P6 is document-heavy: extracting scope and quantities, entering data and reviewing schedules for logic gaps is slow, manual work that is easy to get wrong under deadline pressure. We built the client's AI planning platform end to end, including its AI project-intelligence agent. It produces a baseline-ready XER file with a generated Basis of Schedule that opens directly in Primavera P6, and planning time falls from weeks to days.

The situation
P6 planning was slow, manual and easy to get wrong.
Project planning in Primavera P6 is document-heavy. Extracting scope and quantities, entering data, and reviewing schedules for logic gaps and missing productivity rates is slow, manual work that is easy to get wrong under deadline pressure. The client set out to give planning teams an AI companion to Primavera P6 that reads scope, extracts quantities and produces baseline-ready schedules, without asking planners to abandon the tools and standards they already work in.
What we built
An AI planner that reads scope and writes XER files.
We built the client's AI planning platform end to end, including its AI project-intelligence agent. The platform reads scope and project documents, extracts quantities and the other data a schedule needs, and produces a baseline-ready XER file with a generated Basis of Schedule that opens directly in Primavera P6. The agent surfaces schedule insights, logic refinements and optimization opportunities, reviewed at the activity level with clear context, and scores every schedule against the team's standards and established planning practice. Schedules move in and out as XER files, so the product works within the Primavera P6 standards planners already know. The platform runs on Azure OpenAI.
How it works
The architecture, stage by stage.

Planning time
WeeksdaysFrom Weeks to days
- Planning time falls from weeks to days.
- Schedule quality, scored against the team’s standards, improved 70 percent.
- Every output carries a full Basis of Schedule: assumptions, data sources, duration references and logic rationale.
- Every schedule is scored against the team's standards, with logic refinements surfaced at the activity level.
- XER files in and out make the product a companion to Primavera P6 rather than a replacement for it.
