A demo runs on a curated extract, an administrator account and friendly questions. Production has incomplete records, changing permissions and a cost for every wrong answer.

  • Screened before it is scoped

Butter decides whether the use case deserves a build at all.

  • Bounded before it acts

Identity, permitted tools and human decisions are set out before a Pilot.

  • Measured against a baseline

The current result is written down, so the Pilot has a bar to beat.

This is the right engagement when

  • A demo works, but the route into production is unclear.
  • The proposed agent will read sensitive data or act in a business system.
  • You need a measurable success condition before approving a Pilot.

What this is not.

This work ends in a priced decision on one use case. Choosing among many, or building it, happens elsewhere.

An AI Planner That Reads Scope and Produces P6-Ready Schedules

A project-controls software company wanted AI help for planning teams that respected the Primavera P6 standards they already work in, rather than asking them to abandon their tools of record. That fixed the production path before anything was built: XER in, XER out. We built its AI planning platform end to end. It reads scope and documents, produces a baseline-ready XER file with a generated Basis of Schedule that opens directly in Primavera P6, and its agent’s suggestions are reviewed at the activity level.

Every output carries its basis of schedule: the assumptions, data sources, duration references and logic rationale behind it, so a planner can check the work before accepting it.

Questions buyers ask.

What is an AI readiness assessment?

An AI readiness assessment tests whether one AI use case can reach production before anyone funds its build. Butter gives a free first verdict, then the readiness pass traces the data path, bounds what the agent may do and as whom, and writes down the baseline a Pilot must beat. Every gap is named and priced, so the result is a decision you can fund or stop.

How long does an AI readiness assessment take, and what does it cost?

Butter’s verdict takes minutes and costs nothing; the readiness pass that follows typically takes two weeks at a fixed price. Butter asks eleven short questions and scores the use case on suitability, readiness, value and risk. The readiness pass is a separately scoped engagement for one use case, and you keep the scorecard whether or not we build.

What do we get at the end of an AI readiness assessment?

You get a readiness scorecard, control requirements, a written baseline and a priced gap list for one use case. The scorecard shows the data the use case can rely on, with the gaps made explicit. The control requirements say what the agent may do, as whom, and where a person decides. If the answer is to wait or walk away, the reason is written down too.

Our AI demo works. Why is it not ready for production?

A demo usually runs on a curated extract, an administrator account and friendly questions, and production offers none of those. Production brings incomplete records, changing permissions, difficult cases and a cost for every wrong answer. The readiness pass checks the path the demo skipped: which data can be reached, who may act on it, how the result will be measured and what must change before a Pilot.

Can an AI readiness assessment tell us not to build?

Yes. Butter returns one of five verdicts, Build, Buy, Pilot, Delay or Don’t build, and the readiness pass can end in Delay or Don’t build. A Delay verdict is useful when it names the dependency that would change it. The price is fixed before the work starts, so it does not depend on the answer.
