Engineer cost into the move.
Before the new bill arrives.

Retirement decisions, measured target sizing and a cost case go into the migration plan, so you know what the new estate should cost.

  • A dated baseline

Today’s cost, recorded with its date and scope.

  • Less to move

Unused reports and workloads retire before they are converted.

  • A cost case per wave

The expected change in spend sits beside each wave.

A migration can carry every unused report, oversized job and duplicate data path into a more capable platform. The architecture changes; the habits behind the spend stay.

  • Retired before conversion

Work that will not run again costs no conversion effort or target capacity.

  • Sized on real workloads

Target sizing uses the workloads that will actually run.

  • Traceable wave by wave

The cost case travels with each wave, then passes to the team that runs the estate.

This is the right engagement when

  • The business case depends on a credible run-cost estimate.
  • Legacy reports and workloads need retirement decisions before conversion.
  • Target sizing has to follow the real migration sequence.

What this is not.

Lower infrastructure provisioning cost on unified Fabric infrastructure
15 to 20%

How Myntra Moved Attrition Insight From Monthly to Daily

Myntra’s HR analytics ran on fragmented, manual pipelines. We consolidated the workload onto unified Microsoft Fabric infrastructure. Infrastructure provisioning cost fell 15 to 20%.

Questions buyers ask.

What is migration cost optimization?

Migration cost optimization puts cost decisions into the move itself, so the new estate does not inherit the old bill. We record a dated baseline of current spend, retire unused reports and workloads before they are converted, size the target on the workloads that will actually run, and set a cost case beside each migration wave. You know what the new estate should cost before it is built.

How is migration cost optimization different from Data Estate Optimization?

This work happens during a move; Data Estate Optimization tunes an estate that already runs. Here the decisions are what to retire, how large the target should be and what each wave should cost. Once the target is live, the costed wave plan and baseline pass to the operating team, and later tuning of the running Databricks or Fabric bill belongs to Data Estate Optimization.

How do you estimate what the new platform will cost to run?

We size the target from the workload map, volume and serving needs, with every assumption written down. The cost of the move and the cost of the run are considered together, against a dated baseline of what the source costs today. After cutover, the Lakehouse Health & Cost Check reads the new Databricks or Fabric bill and benchmarks your own workloads, so the estimate is checked against real numbers.

How is migration cost work scoped and priced?

It is scoped in the first working session and delivered at a fixed price, because its length depends on the size of the move. It can run on a planned move or on one already under way. You keep the dated baseline, the target sizing assumptions, the cost model and the costed wave plan, with the point in each wave where source spend retires.
