Act on the event
while it is still happening.

Your live events become KPIs, alerts and actions your team can use while the outcome can still change.

  • Live KPIs on your events

Operational events show up as live measures, not a refreshed report.

  • Exceptions caught early

Anomaly and threshold alerts flag the condition as it forms.

  • An action on every alert

Each scoped alert reaches the team or system that acts on it.

The event is already in your systems. The team learns about it from a refreshed report, after the window to intervene has narrowed.

  • Start from the decision

Name the decision first, then the stream and KPI that serve it.

  • Time the whole path

A fast query is one part; what counts is how fast the team responds.

  • Prove one stream first

One stream family on your own events, then choose the next.

This is the right engagement when

  • Events arrive faster than your reporting cycle.
  • Exceptions need action while the outcome can still change.
  • You want one live stream and KPI board proved before expanding.

What this is not.

This work covers the path from a live event to an action, not the wider reporting estate.

How Swiggy Closed the Gap Between an Order and the Shelf

Swiggy’s operational analytics ran on batch pipelines, with dashboards up to 10 minutes behind the orders they described. We brought its operational events into Fabric Real-Time Intelligence, so teams decide while a delivery is still in progress. Decision latency fell from up to 10 minutes to seconds, on 1B+ events a day.

Questions buyers ask.

What is real-time intelligence on Microsoft Fabric?

Real-time intelligence on Microsoft Fabric turns operational events into live KPIs, alerts and actions while the outcome can still change. Eventstream ingests the events, Eventhouse stores them and serves them through KQL, a live KPI board shows the condition, and Activator fires the scoped alerts and actions. The useful measure is how quickly the team recognizes the condition and responds, not query speed alone.

What is a two-week live pulse?

A live pulse is our two-week, fixed-scope first slice: one stream family on your own events, taken to a live KPI board. It runs on Pulse, our real-time accelerator, which covers ingestion, live KPIs, anomaly alerts and automated action. You keep the KPI board, and the working slice becomes the basis for choosing the next event family and the next action.

When does a business need real-time data instead of batch reporting?

A business needs real-time data when the time gained changes an operating decision. When an order falls behind, a machine changes behavior or a vehicle sends an exception, a refreshed report can arrive after the useful window to intervene has narrowed. Where no decision changes with faster information, the reporting cycle is enough. We start from that window and work back to the stream.

What is the difference between query latency and decision latency?

Query latency is how fast the data answers; decision latency is how fast the team can act on what it shows. A fast query is one part of the path from event to action. We time the whole path, from the event landing to the alert reaching the team or system that acts on it, against the team’s decision window.

What do we need to start a real-time intelligence pilot?

You need one event stream and the decision it should change. The first working session names the event family, the KPI and the intervention it should support, and that decision bounds the two-week live pulse. Further implementation, with more event families and more actions, is then scoped from the working first slice rather than from a plan on paper.
